Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, the Financial Analyst is responsible for financial analysis and internal reporting. The position supports the Building Operations group in gathering financial information, creating annual budgets, monitoring expenditures, and recommending adjustments to ensure meeting of budgetary targets. Key activities also include creating and issuing purchase orders to engage contractors, and ensuring timely payment of invoices and progress billings.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 Provide internal reporting support to the Operations department;
 Administration of Operations contracts;
 Ensure timely progress payments;
 Financial management of capital expenditures and major capital works;
 Financial management of security, building maintenance, technical services, housekeeping, administrative services, and parking;
 Preparation of financial budgets and other planning;
 Review of accounting entries, budget variances and forecasts;
 Support of purchase order system;
 Support of Capital Expenditure Committee;

Skill Requirements

 Bachelor’s degree in finance or business administration and minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in a similar position or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
 Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and strong work ethic;
 Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other software;
 Experience managing, leading and motivating team members;
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
 Good organizational skills and initiative;
 Solid written and communication skills;
 Ability to build relationships across different teams;
 Ability to challenge spending decisions;
 Ability to work under pressure and with a professional team;
 Strong problem solving skills;
 Familiarity with financial management of construction projects is an asset;
 Professional accounting designation or equivalent is an asset;
 Fluently bilingual in both official languages is an asset;
 Experience using Infor SUN systems and PQMA is an asset.
