Key Activities

Banquet Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving the NAC’s events on and occasionally, off premises. As part of your duties you will follow through with the timely set-up and execution of banquet events. This includes: table set ups, moving chairs, stages, portable bars, risers, dance floors and any other items requested by our clients. Your duties during the event can vary based on the situation but shall include serving guests while moving about freely, which can include bending, climbing stairs and carrying items weighing 25-50 pounds. Servers are expected to work as bartenders depending on our guests needs. Additional responsibilities include breaking down table set ups and returning items to the appropriate areas of our operation. The successful incumbent has the ability to follow directions efficiently, meets the physical demands of the job and has a positive and attentive attitude enabling them to be professional and courteous to all guests at all times.

Skill Requirements

 Must have a high school diploma;
 Finely honed customer service skills;
 1 year of experience in a similar position;
 Bartending experience would be an asset;
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
 Ability to work well under pressure;
 “Smart Serve” Certificate;
 Ability to meet the physical demands as identified in key activities;
 Ability to work well in a team environment and demonstrate solid relationship building skills;
 Ability to follow specific direction;
 Ability to work an irregular schedule to meet business needs (evenings, weekends and statutory holidays);
 Bilingual in both official languages (English and French);
 A past record of satisfactory attendance and punctuality is a requirement*.
