Working Hours: As required (evenings, weekends, and weekdays). Contract from November 2021 to June 2022.

Key Activities

Responsible to the Associate Producer, Public Spaces, and reporting to the House Manager, you will be giving 60-minute tours focusing on art pieces and public spaces at the NAC in both official languages. Training will be given so that you have all the necessary tools to provide a great experience to our visitors and share the magic. You will also be responsible for the proper conducting of the scheduled tours to ensure a unique and memorable experience for all of our visitors.

Days may be different; on any given day, you might:
• Interact with visitors from around the world;
• Conduct one or more presentations per day;
• Keep up with the latest developments, events and performances happening at the NAC;
• Share your passion for and knowledge of the arts, and endeavour to reflect the Five Core Values of the NAC.

Skill Requirements

• Fluently bilingual in both official languages; other languages are an asset;
• Flexible scheduling availability (weekdays, evenings, holidays and weekends);
• Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time;
• Ability to guide guests on an immersive experience and animate a crowd;
• Ability to demonstrate strong guest service skills including the ability to resolve guest issues and concerns directly or through engaging the right co-workers;
• Excellent communication and people skills;
• Basic computer skills required to operate mobile devices and other computer systems and being responsible for the safety of the patrons within the tour;
• Assets: Studies in the arts, preferably art history, and experience working with the public;
• A past record of satisfactory attendance and punctuality is a requirement*.
