Reporting to the Banquets Managers, you are primarily accountable for the operation of the bar and to provide friendly, courteous and efficient service to all our guests. You are also responsible for reconciling your bar pre and post service. As this position shares in the banquet event gratuity pool, the bartender is also responsible to share in the food service duties as required.

Start date: in September 2019
hourly rate: as per HSTU Collective Agreement plus gratuities

Skill Requirements

  • Post-secondary Diploma and a completion of bartending and mixology program;
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in bartending;
  • “Smart Serve” Certificate must be complete at time of hire;
  • Knowledge of liquor laws and regulations;
  • Experience with the general public;
  • Experience with money transactions and operating a cash register;
  • Flexible and available to work within an irregular schedule, weekends, evenings and day shifts;
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced and busy environment;
  • Bilingualism in both official languages (English and French) is mandatory;
  • A past record of satisfactory attendance and punctuality is a requirement.*
